Ahead of this year's World Pharmacists Day, FIP has launched a new factsheet to support the global campaign under the theme "Empowering pharmacists for healthier futures."
The call-to-action sheet outlines why empowering pharmacists is essential to improving access to care, optimising medicine use and strengthening health systems. It also highlights the key enablers that allow pharmacists to practise to their full scope, including supportive legislation, sustainable funding and remuneration, integration into health systems, competency-based education, and public awareness.
Recognising that meaningful change requires action across the health sector, the resource also sets out how governments, policymakers and regulators, other health professionals and the public can help unlock the full potential of the pharmacy workforce through supportive policies, collaboration and trust.
The factsheet is part of FIP's World Pharmacists Day campaign resources and is available for member organisations, partners and supporters to use in advocacy activities leading up to 25 September.
