  • Abstract:

    The incidence of overweight and obesity is rising across the world. In the Netherlands, currently almost half of the population is overweight with a body mass index (BMI) of at least 25 kg/m2. Alarmingly, in the United States two-thirds of adults are overweight, with 36% of adults and 17% of children and adolescents being obese (BMI > 30 kg/m2).
