Pharmacists in Japan do not have the prescribing rights. In 2010, Health Policy Bureau in Japanese government issued a notification which promotes pharmacists’ involvement in the collaborative management of patients’ drug therapies with physicians. Based on the notification, we have developed and implemented PPES as Protocol-Based Pharmacotherapy..
