Background: No systematic evidence-based drug selection approach exists in Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) - the main health provider in Qatar, which is creating confusion among practitioners when selecting from a variety of entities in several drug classes. The proton pump inhibitors (PPI) class is a good example of which.
