Founded in 1987, School of Pharmacy, one of the earliest departments in China Pharmaceutical University (CPU), is mainly engaged in the teaching and scientific research of chemical medicine.  School of Pharmacy has 196 staff members. There are 44 full professors, 3 specially-appointed research professors, 51 associate professors. Currently, School of Pharmacy has 5 doctoral and 6 master programs, with national key disciplines in Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Analysis. It has been prestigious that several times both Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmaceutics have been awarded as the Outstanding Discipline Echelon of Jiangsu Province. Moreover, among 5 undergraduate programs (Pharmacy (Honor students), Pharmacy, Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Analysis and Medicinal Chemistry), Pharmacy, Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmaceutics have been recognized by National Characteristic Discipline Award. School of Pharmacy lays great emphasis on the R&D of novel drugs, with the combination of basic research and applied science. Organizing and undertaking key programs at both state-level and provincial-level have successfully prompted a long-term research on developing new drugs, as well as contributed to the advancement of research capacity. The amount of research funding has reached 0.19 billion RMB (Chinese Currency), and more than 1000 research papers have been selected by Science Citation Index (SCI). Over the years, School of Pharmacy has made numerous achievements in academic excellence.  At present, School of Pharmacy has 2907 students, including 208 doctoral students, 840 master students, and 1,859 bachelor students. With a primary mission of maintaining and advancing the position as a leader in pharmacy research and education, the school of Pharmacy of CPU continue to improve and nurture our programs, providing better financial aid system and promote high quality of career-development for the graduates.
