Global vaccination training for pharmacists explored

The global landscape of vaccination training for pharmacists and pharmacy students is explored in a new FIP report shared today.

As pharmacies increasingly serve as vaccination providers, understanding how pharmacists are trained to deliver immunisation services safely and effectively has become essential. Drawing on global surveys, peer-reviewed literature and FIP initiatives, the report provides an overview of current training provision worldwide, while identifying barriers that affect the development, implementation and scalability of vaccination training programmes.

It also highlights priority training needs to strengthen pharmacist-led vaccination services. The findings aim to support policymakers, educators and professional bodies in developing sustainable training programmes that enable pharmacists to expand access to vaccination and improve public health outcomes.
