FIP Women in Science and Education (FIPWiSE) marked its sixth anniversary by hosting a FIPWiSE Global Online Summit 2026 last week, under the theme “Women leading pharmacy through global challenges”. Aligned with the United Nations’ 2026 International Day of Women and Girls in Science, the interactive event brought together 244 participants from 59 countries.

The summit convened voices from across the World Health Organization (WHO) regions, FIP leadership and global health partners to reflect on progress and persistent barriers to gender equity in pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences. Discussions emphasised that inclusive leadership, workforce well-being and equitable systems are essential to resilient health systems, particularly amid climate crises, conflict and post-COVID recovery.

The event concluded with the launch of the FIPWiSE Commitment to Women in Pharmacy and Society, a collective pledge to advance equity through policy, programming and workforce development. A recording of the summit is available online.
