190 countries on the United Nations list plus five other recognised or partially recognised states/territories took part in World Pharmacists Day this year.

In a video message released at the weekend, marking FIP's farthest reaching campaign to date, FIP president Dominique Jordan thanked the 1,200+ pharmacists, pharmaceutical scientists, and pharmacy educators and students from around who took part as #WPD2021 champions. Joining frontline pharmacists from all sectors as champions were leaders of national organisations, pharmacists at ministries of health, high-ranking academics, pharmacy regulators and other healthcare professions.

"International cooperation is crucial to finding effective and sustainable solutions, not only to the consequences of this pandemic, but also to many other health problems we face. Global problems require us to work together in solidarity so that our voices are amplified. Through FIP, we are all connected," Mr Jordan said. He added that this year's campaign message of trust in pharmacy was especially relevant in the context of COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy.

FIP will announce the theme of World Pharmacists Day 2022 in March. Follow the federation on social media for the latest information.
