I. Background
Evidence in the literature demonstrates that greater diversity among health care providers is associated with greater access to services for patients from different racial and ethnic backgrounds. Care from providers with similar and/or like backgrounds is associated with improved communication between the patient and the provider.. The access to the whole abstract and if available the presentation file is available to FIP members and to congress participants of that specific congress.
