Objective: Describe the habits of self-medication practiced by surgical patients to identify possible intervention by the surgical team.
Methods: A descriptive study was conducted in a Surgical Unit and the Surgical Center of the University Hospital of the Federal District, Brazil, between December 2007 and February 2008. Data were collected.. The access to the whole abstract and if available the presentation file is available to FIP members and to congress participants of that specific congress.
