Chronic cough (persisting beyond 8 weeks) is distressing, disruptive and debilitating. It interrupts the conversation, sleep, social participation and daily activities. In Taiwan, codeine is classified as a secondary control drug by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and is practiced only for analgesic and cough. However, we found that
