  Backgrounds

  Adefovir dipivoxil (ADV) is widely used in clinic for chronic hepatitis B. However, long-term application of ADV at a conventional dosage has been found to be responsible for hypophosphatemic osteomalacia. It is easily ignored and misdiagnosed because symptoms don`t appear until years later.
