Backgrounds
Nanostructured montmorillonite (MMT) and laponite particles were developed for potential use as anti-obesity agents. The unique adsorptive capacity and charge properties of MMT and laponite, whereby the clays possess large surface areas (≥800 m2g-1) and co-existing positive and negative surface charges, were exploited for adsorbing..
