The number of innovative pharmaceutical drugs getting marketed is stagnating. The R&D costs for new drugs are rising. Public healthcare systems need to ensure medication for all therapeutical areas are available and not only for particular indications. The development of innovative drugs is highly costly. It is associated with certain risks.
