Clinical decision support (CDS) systems can potentially prevent drug–drug interactions (DDI) and thereby improve patient safety. However, despite their potential benefit, DDI alerts are often ignored as a result of ‘alert fatigue’.
A literature review was performed to identify characteristics of high-priority DDI and medication-related CDS
