  Stroke is a disabling complication of atrial fibrillation (AF) that affects a large number of people in the Asia-Pacific region. For the past 50 years the vitamin K antagonist warfarin has been gold standard therapy. However, the use of warfarin in Asian patients is often suboptimal.
