  Informed estimate for access to medicines globally is 67%. When disaggregated , emerging market have an average of 50%.

  A number of factors have been identified as responsible for poor access to medicines in emerging markets. They include poor infrastructure, sub-optimal supply chain, policy choices, patents, access to data among others.
