As two weeks of negotiations by world leaders at the United Nations Climate Change Conference 2021 (COP26) begin today, FIP has sent a letter to national delegations setting out pharmacy’s role in cleaner air and water and greener medicines use, and the benefit of sustainable pharmaceutical services. Watch a recording of FIP’s message to COP26 leaders here.

The federation has added its support to the Healthy Climate Prescription, an open letter from over 450 organisations representing more than 45 million healthcare workers coming together to call for action to address the climate crisis, including building climate resilient, low-carbon, sustainable health systems and ensuring that pandemic recovery investments support climate action and reduce social and health inequities. The letter will be publicly released, sent to negotiating heads of state and national delegations, and delivered live at an official COP26 event.
