The FIP Council has today ratified Portuguese community pharmacist Luís Lourenço as the federation’s new professional secretary, with a term of four years.

He previously served FIP in the Young Pharmacists Group and, for the past eight years, as professional secretary of the Community Pharmacy Section and a member of the Board of Pharmaceutical Practice. “My long involvement with the federation has allowed me to establish an extensive network of contacts within the leadership of member organisations. It will be an honour to use my skills and experiences to serve as FIP professional secretary,” Mr Lourenço said. He will take up position on 20 September, taking over from Ema Paulino who served FIP as professional secretary for two terms.
