FIP activities during World Immunization Week 2020

To keep up with the latest from FIP, follow us on social media!

World Immunization Week 2020, celebrated in the last week of April (24 to 30 April), aims to promote the use of vaccines to protect people of all ages against disease.

As part of the 2020 campaign, the World Health Organization and partners, including FIP, aim to:

  • Demonstrate the value of vaccines for the health of children, communities and the world.
  • Show how routine immunization is the foundation for strong, resilient health systems and universal health coverage.
  • Highlight the need to build on immunization progress while addressing gaps, including through increased investment in vaccines and immunization.

The theme this year is #VaccinesWork for All and the WHO campaign focuses on how vaccines – and the people who develop, deliver and receive them – are heroes by working to protect the health of everyone, everywhere.

To showcase how pharmacy contributes, FIP will be highlighting pharmaceutical scientists who develop vaccines, pharmacists who train colleagues to vaccinate, and pharmacists who administer vaccines, on our social media channels; Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn.

In addition to this, FIP has recently also joined  the World Coalition on Adult Vaccination, along with many other international health organisations.

The World Coalition on Adult Vaccination aim to create and mobilise stakeholder networks and experts to help influence and shape policies to improve the uptake rate of adult vaccinations.

As part of this coalition FIP will tackle challenges such as raising awareness of the value of a life course approach to vaccination and highlight the value of pharmacists in addressing adult vaccination challenges.
