Professor Cyril Odianose Usifoh Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Benin, Benin City. Graduated with Bachelor of Pharmacy (Second Class, Upper Division) from University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) in 1983, M.Sc from Sussex University, Brighton, England in 1985 and PhD from Westfalischen Wilhelms University, Muenster, Germany in 1992. Professor Usifoh assumed the position of Lecturer I in the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry in January, 1993 and rose to the rank of Professor in October, 2003. He was Head of Department 2001-2003, Dean (2006-2010). He is a Fellow of Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria and West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists. Member, Nigerian Association of Academic Pharmacists, Member, European Association of Pharma. Biotechnology (EAPB), Member, Quantitative Structural Activity Relationship Society, Member, International Society for the Development of Natural Products. He was awarded the Glaxo Allensbury Prize for the second Best Final Year B.Pharm. Student, Ile Ife. He was a Sir Adam Thompson Scholar, England. Research Fellow, National Defense Medical Centre, Taipei, Taiwan and DAAD Guest Scientist, Germany. He has distinguished himself as an international scholar and has currently over 80 scientific publications in the broad areas of Pharmacy. Professor Usifoh has made presentations at national and international conferences, workshops and seminars and a Reviewer to several International Journals. He was the Editor-In-Chief, Nigerian Journal of Pharmacy and presently the Chairman of the Editorial Board. He has served and still serving in various capacities as active member and/or chairman in various committees and sub committees in the University of Benin and the local community. Former Chairman, Edo State Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, Former Member, Governing Council, Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN). He is happily married to Dr (Mrs) Stella Usifoh and they are blessed with three children. His hobbies are letter writing, photography and travelling.
