Melanie Morrow has worked as the National Critical Care and Trauma Response Centre (NCCTRC) specialist clinical pharmacist for the past 6 years. This role has a diverse portfolio. Melanie designed and maintains the Australian medicine capability for local and international responses for a rapidly deployable 60 bed field hospital. Melanie is also an accredited vaccination pharmacist and manages a vaccination clinic to ensure the local AUSMAT volunteers are fully vaccinated. Melanie has supported medical teams and performed pre-briefs and post-surveys of pharmacists and medical staff to improve the capability after many deployments, including to Pakistan, the Philippines, Vanuatu and Fiji. Before her role in the NCCTRC, Melanie worked as the Emergency Medicine pharmacist at the Royal Darwin Hospital. Melanie is completing a Masters in Clinical Pharmacy through the University of Queensland, Australia. Her research project will assist in the development Medication Standing Orders for Australian Medical Assistance Team deployments.
