Biographies Speakers


Cairo Toledano graduated from the University of Morelos School of Pharmacy and completed his Doctor degree in Clinical Pharmacy in 2009. His current position is Associate Professor at the School of Pharmacy in Morelos where apart of his academic contribution; he is responsible of the pharmaceutical care service provided to primary care facilities, including family medicine and retrovirus units.

His career has been devoted to the human resources training in pharmacy and he has focused his research in the development of pharmaceutical care services in populations living with chronic diseases like type 2 Diabetes mellitus, metabolic syndrome and HIV/AIDS., with special emphasis on health education programs and prompt identification of drug related problems. He has also been involved on a local and national level with the pharmacist profession and pharmaceutical services awareness. He is member of the National System of Researchers (Level C).

He is a fellow and board member of the Mexican Association of Pharmacy, and has held multiple committee, task force and chairperson positions within this professional organization. In the past he was Chair of the FIP Young Pharmacist’s Group (2009 – 2010).
