Shirley-Anne is currently appointed as Head of Department in the Pharmacy Department at Nelson Mandela University, Port Elizabeth South Africa and has been involved in Pharmacy Education for the past 30 years. In addition to presentation of the BPharm qualification and postgraduate programmes the Pharmacy Department at NMMU is the first provider to be accredited for the presentation of the Pharmacy Technician qualification in South Africa. In addition to her involvement in academia Shirley-Anne has served in various capacities in the Pharmaceutical Society of South Africa and Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences of South Africa. She was elected as Chairman of the Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences for the term 2012 to 2014 as well as from 2004 to 2008. She served as a Vice President of the PSSA and from 2012 to 2014 as well as from 2005 to 2009. Shirley-Anne has also served as an elected member of the South African Pharmacy Council from 2009 to 2013 and was re-elected in 2014 to serve until 2018.
