Every year on 23 March, the World Meteorological Organization commemorates the World Meteorological Day, highlighting the vital role of meteorology in safeguarding communities. Pharmacists play a crucial role in humanitarian responses to natural disasters by ensuring access to essential medicines, managing emergency supplies, and providing urgent healthcare services. Their efforts help maintain continuity of care and support affected communities through both clinical and logistical contributions in crisis situations. This event will spotlight the responses of FIP member organisations in various disaster scenarios, showcasing their efforts to ensure healthcare resilience in the face of natural disasters.

There has been an explosion of new generative AI tools and advancements in AI capabilities. However, minimal support or resources have been specifically tailored for or made available to pharmacists to develop and work with these tools. It is critical for pharmacists to stay up to date with the latest AI advancements to be able to leverage these tools that can increase productivity and/or enhance therapeutic decisions. The FIP Technology Advisory Group’s (TAG’s) AI Working Group is launching an AI Toolkit: a new resource to serve as a guide for pharmacists looking to leverage AI. The tool serves as a high-level guide to aid pharmacists in defining their use case and understanding implications of various AI models.

The International Primary Care Respiratory Group (IPCRG) is delighted to invite you to support our 8th Scientific Meeting in Brașov, Romania, on Friday 11th and Saturday 12th April 2025.

The IPCRG promises a high quality and engaging scientific programme focused on new respiratory research and developments relevant to primary health care. The Community Pharmacy Section (CPS) Summit is an event carried out by FIP CPS in collaboration with FIP member organisations in the Latin American region. The summit provides an ideal background for bridging the gap, breaking barriers and integrating Latin American pharmacists in the ONE-FIP vision. The event was held for the first time in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in collaboration with the Confederacion Farmaceutica Argentina in March 2024. After a successful first edition with 100 pharmacist attendees, we are now preparing for the second edition that will be held in Brasilia, Brazil, on 24 and 25 April, in collaboration with the Conselho Federal de Farmácia, where we expect 150 participants.The programme includes opportunities to engage with FIP and CPS, insights into novel advancements in the community pharmacy practice worldwide, discussions on digital pharmacy and artificial intelligence, updates about the Foro Farmaceutico de las Americas projects and a key session where every Latin American country will present their challenges and threats. This will provide a space for collective problem-solving and mutual support.

17^th Congress of the European Association for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics EACPT2025 will be held in Helsinki, Finland, in 28 June – 1 July, 2025. Within the congress theme, “Embracing Innovations for Optimized Patient Care,” the scientific program offers a cutting-edge exploration of clinical pharmacology and therapeutics, the latest in the research and drug development arena and an update of recent advances and emerging developments within therapeutics. Moreover, there will be ample opportunities for scientific discussions and networking during the poster and refreshment breaks, and various social events after the congress days. The MyDispense Symposium will take place from 13th to 16th July 2025 at the Monash Prato Centre, Italy, marking the 15th anniversary of the MyDispense programme. This event will introduce MyDispense version 8.0, incorporating features such as Medication Administration Records (MAR), Pharmacist Independent Prescribing, and diagnostic tools for pharmacists. The upgrade also includes enhancements to ePharmacy workflows and patient avatars to improve the realism of training exercises.

The FIP Pharmacy Practice Research Special Interest Group (PPR SIG) is hosting an international event — “Pharmacy practice research summer meeting for PhD students, postdoctoral fellows and supervisors” — on 30 August 2025 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The main scope of the PPR SIG is to increase pharmacy practice contributions to global health by providing greater access to the latest high-quality international pharmacy practice research. During this meeting both starting-out and experienced researchers will be able to collaborate on major PPR themes.

PhD students and their supervisors, researchers, academics, professional organisations and practitioners involved in research are welcome to join this face-to-face meeting to present their work and to start building new global pharmacy networks.

This one-day event, organized by the FIP Health and Medicines Information Section (HaMIS), will examine how health literacy can bridge gaps in care, empower patients, and elevate the pharmacy profession’s role in advancing health equity.
