  Introduction:
  Loneliness is now affecting one in five people in Spain - regardless of age or cultural background. Scientific evidence proves that loneliness can be as harmful as other common risk factors, such as smoking or lack of physical activity, and that it is related to a higher risk of chronic diseases, premature death and mental health..
