Introduction
Risk factors for falls in the elderly include age, gender, balance issues, reduced muscle strength, chronic diseases, and concurrent use of multiple high-risk medications, such as benzodiazepines (BZDs), sedatives, antipsychotic drugs (e.g., haloperidol), tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs) and insulin.
