Introduction

The first day of the Deans Forum will be focused on developing a strategic perspective for the school by the Deans. A strategic perspective can facilitate the process of engagement when managing change. Day 1 will focus on methodologies that can be used to empower Deans to transform a concept into a strategic and business plan, with a clear vision, mission and strategic objectives for the school.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Identify concrete challenges and gaps in their current institutional strategic plan;
  • Develop a broad understanding of strategic planning according societal trends in light of technology evolution, disruptive innovation and education needs;
  • Understand the difference between a strategic plan and an operational plan;
  • Lead change management initiatives at their institutions, including efficient resources allocation and organizational change;
  • Evaluate and assess their current stage of action plan development and define key objectives for future initiatives;
  • Develop a specific institutional plan that serves as a roadmap to implement change in their institutions.
