FIPEd invites interested experts and those with a professional interest in workforce development to come along and contribute to an interactive forum to discuss and debate topics connected with this area. The FIP Education Development Team (EDT) values input and advice from participants.

Introduction

This Forum aims to gather agencies or organisations responsible for the national accreditation or quality assurance (QA) pharmacy degree program(s) that qualify graduates to practice as pharmacists in your country.

14:45 – 15:00: Presentation on FIP Education (FIPEd)

  • Overview of FIPEd and the Workforce Development Hub (WDH)
  • History of FIP initiatives and work related to quality assurance (QA) of pharmacy education
  • Current trends and challenges in QA of pharmacy education

15:00 – 15:50: Presentation on FIP Reports, Resources and Tools

  • FIP Global Framework for QA of Pharmacy Education
  • FIP Policy Statement on QA of Pharmacy Education, including recommendations
  • Other tools, reports and resources that can support QA of pharmacy education

15:50 – 16:10: Break       

16:10 – 16:50: Presentation and discussion related to FIP’s Global Conference on Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences Education (Nanjing, China; November 2016)

  • Nanjing Statements (brief overview)
  • Workforce Development Goals (brief overview)
  • QA-Related Statements and Recommendations

16:50 – 17:30: Discussion

  • Proposed future plans of FIPEd and WDH related to QA
  • How can FIP support Member Organizations and national accreditation bodies to assure and advance the quality of pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences education in their country?
  • Desirability and feasibility of future collaboration and, if applicable, a possible structure and mechanism.

  • Share the Nanjing Outcomes and discuss their implications on shaping national accreditation/QA
