    Back ground: National Health Insurance (NHI) in Taiwan was initiated in 1995 with payment for Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) covered by the NHI global budget. To offer more opportunities for TCM treatment, many hospitals opened their own TCM clinics. Studies show that patients who visited TCM clinics were aged between 45 and 65 or older
