  • Abstract:

Background: Neonates (infants less than 1-month of age) are often subjected to frequent painful diagnostic and therapeutic procedures upon admission to hospital, whereby analgesic treatment for these procedures is sub optimal. The oral administration of 24% sucrose is a simple and validated developmentally appropriate non-pharmacological method..
