    Backgrounds

    Dihydropyrimidinase (DHP), encoded by DPYS gene, is the second enzyme in the catabolic pathway of uracil and fluoropyrimidine drugs such as 5-fluorouracil. DHP catalyzes the hydrolysis of dihydrouracil and fluorodihydrouracil. Deficiency or low activity of DHP could cause severe adverse reactions during fluoropyrimidine therapy. Several ..
