    Ibuprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, is used worldwide mainly in the form of racemate. Ibuprofen contains one chiral center and R(-)-ibuprofen, the distomer, has been demonstrated to undergo unidirectional conversion to S(+)-ibuprofen, the eutomer, in vivo.
