  • Abstract:

    Background: Tamoxifen has been the gold standard for reducing the risk of recurrence and mortality in adjuvant endocrine therapy. The active metabolites of tamoxifen, 4-hydroxytamoxifen and 4-hydroxy-N-desmethyltamoxifen (endoxifen), have been considered to have 100-fold greater affinity for estrogen receptors than the parent drug.
