  • Abstract:

    Background information:

Retinopathy of prematurity is a common complication in premature infants, and its diagnosis can be made by fundus examination. Tropicamide and phenylephrine eyedrops are recommended as mydriatics for fundus examination in short duration. Until 1970s, ocular administration of 10% phenylephrine was wildly used in mydriasis..
