  Fluoroquinolones are broad spectrum antibiotics widely used for the treatment of numerous diseases. Norfloxacin is a fluoroquinolone and it is chemically named as 1-ethyl-6-fluoro-1,4-dihydro-4-oxo-7-(piperazin-1-yl)-quinoline-3-carboxylic acid.
