Proniosome as a novel carrier for oral delivery of rutin: preparation and physicochemical characterization

  • Abstract:

    Aims: The aim of the present study was to investigate a method to overcome poor oral bioavailability of rutin using proniosomal preparation. Rutin (a flavonoid glycoside) which is found in many plants has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anticarcinogenic, antithrombotic, cytoprotective and vasoprotective activities in vivo.
