  • Abstract:

    The global prevalence of diabetes mellitus presently sits at over 380 million, of which T2DM accounts ≈90% cases. In T2DM, insulin resistance (IR) reduces tissue glucose uptake accompanied by an increase in hepatic glucose production. Protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B (PTP-1B) acts as a key driver of IR.
