For emergency response to the outbreak of cholera in Zimbabwe in December 2008, Zimbabwe Red Cross Society launched an emergency appeal for support through the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). In order to respond the appeal, Japanese Red Cross Society (JRCS) deployed Basic Health Care Emergency Response Unit
