At the Royal Liverpool & Broadgreen University Hospital there was a high incidence of MRSA and c. difficile infections in inpatients. As part of a UK Government initiative, funding was made available to increase input from pharmacists to reducing these infections. In particular, appropriate antibiotic usage was targeted.
