: Ochratoxin A (OTA) is fungal mycotoxin for Aspergillus and Penicillium species, that colonizes large number of food products. The human population is frequently exposed to OTA. Renal tubular cells have specific protein carrier that allows toxin up-take through active transport activity and accumulation within these cells.
