Midazolam (MDZ) and fentanyl (FEN) exhibit significant adsorption to the circuit of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). Few clinical studies demonstrated patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) had normal or increased sedation and analgesia requirements on ECMO, but the clinical impact was not clear.
