Despite longstanding, widespread traditional use, and the more recent rapid increased commercial availability of herbal medicines in conventional pharmaceutical dosage forms, regulatory control of these medicines is very deficient and, in some aspects, essentially non-existent in South Africa. This function is the responsibility of the Medicines..
