Sterile compounding is a subset of pharmaceutical compounding where the compounded drug is sterile and absent of viable microorganisms. Compounded products are customized to meet complex patient needs due to pharmaceutical necessity, drug shortages or unavailability of manufactured products and pose challenges to community and hospital pharmacists.. The access to the whole abstract and the presentation file is available to FIP members and to congress participants of that specific congress.
