  Background: Several case reports and retrospective studies indicate that carbapenem may decrease the plasma concentrations of valproic acid (VPA), thus decreasing its therapeutic activity.
  Aim: To evaluate the drug interaction between VPA and carbapenem in a local tertiary hospital.
