The WHO Programme for International Drug Monitoring was set up in 1968 as a consequence of the thalidomide tragedy. The Programme has grown to become a global network of pharmacovigilance centres in over 130 countries around the world. The network of national centres is coordinated by WHO in close cooperation with a WHO Collaborating Centre in..
