    Comfrey root (Symphytum officinale L.) and other parts of the herb have been used for more than 2000 years to treat a variety of ailments. Belonging to the Boraginacea family, comfrey has been valued in traditional medicine for its anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and astringent properties in both external and internal application.
