Most drug molecules reach their target after systemic administration through blood circulation. Free drug molecules injected to the blood can be distributed widely in the body by extravasating at both healthy and diseased organs, causing side effects. Delivering drug molecules in a carrier system limits the drug distribution only to the diseased.. The access to the whole abstract and the presentation file is available to FIP members and to congress participants of that specific congress.
