Anthrax is caused by the spore-forming bacterium Bacillus anthracis. Natural anthrax disease can result from contact with contaminated animal materials. Of primary concern, however, is the intentional release of aerosolized B. anthracis spores as a biological weapon. Inside the body, spores germinate into bacteria that multiply and secrete.. The access to the whole abstract and the presentation file is available to FIP members and to congress participants of that specific congress.
