Both Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 2 (HIV-2) and Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1 (HIV-1) are retroviruses associated with Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS). However, HIV-2 infection is markedly different from HIV-1. While HIV-1 is responsible for the global HIV Pandemics, HIV-2 is responsible for local epidemics, most in Occidental..
